REMEDIAL WATERPROOFING & CONCRETE REPAIRS

Leyland Brothers Waterproofing offers a complete leak detection and consultancy service. The signs of water damage are obvious, but remedial waterproofing is often needed to exact the location of leaks and to fix the problem using one or a number of our waterproofing procedures.

Our consultancy and remedial services pinpoint the areas of leakage to create a plan of action, solving problems in common areas such as concrete rooftops, balconies, wet areas, concrete spalling (concrete cancer) and podiums. We are able to fix issues with existing waterproof membranes and coatings, sealants, cement rendering, joint seals and flashing.

Concrete cancer occurs when steel reinforcements within building concrete expands, which weakens the encasing concrete. This causes the concrete to break, with dangerous pieces of concrete breaking off, leaving an unattractive facade behind. Initial cracks in the concrete allow water to penetrate and react with the steel, which is how the expansion starts. Our remedial work for concrete spalling addresses the damage with concrete and steel treatment, using waterproof membranes to prevent moisture getting through to the steel and causing further future damage.

Our remedial services are carried out by trained and highly experienced professionals, working in full compliance with regulations and using the best available waterproofing products.

SHEET & TORCH ON MEMBRANE WATERPROOFING

Sheet membrane waterproofing or sheet membranes are designed to stop water transfer, and this makes them a crucial component for rooftops, podiums, walls, water features, balconies, retaining walls and anywhere else that water may transfer through and cause damage. They are an ideal choice for high traffic areas thanks to their resilience.

Torch on membranes are simply waterproof membranes that are welded to the underlying substrate using a torch. This welding process ensures the best substrate bonding and best bonding between membranes. Leyland Brothers Waterproofing has over 40 years of torch on membrane experience, with each case considered on a completely individual basis to ensure that the chosen application is the best application. The success of this method is ensured with the right application knowledge and experience, and few other companies can match our experience for torch on membranes.

Depending on the area of the building, substrate, building condition and environmental factors, sheet membranes may be applied using a different bonding method. Regardless of the method chosen, we guarantee our services in providing complete water protection.

Torch On Membrane Waterproofing

We have 40 years’ experience in laying torch on membranes for rooftops and substructures including balconies, planter boxes and retaining walls. Torch on membranes use a mixture of polymers and bitumen on a reinforced base for superior performance in cold weather and high tensile strength. Please take a look at our gallery for completed projects using the torch on membrane waterproofing system.

Liquid Membrane Waterproofing

Liquid membranes and coatings provide flexible and resilient waterproofing for all building details, including rooftops, balconies, terraces, planter boxes, detention tanks, water features, retaining walls, wet areas and decorative façades.

Sheet Membrane Waterproofing (Green Star rated TPO’s)

Sheet membranes can be applied to almost all horizontal areas that require waterproofing, including rooftops and podiums. All types of sheet membrane are excellent for long term waterproofing.

EPOXY COATINGS

Used for flooring, plant rooms and walkways, showrooms, epoxy coating is a waterproof resin which provides a durable and impermeable film on the surface it coats. Unlike other waterproofing methods, epoxy coatings can be provided in a variety of different colours and finishes to provide an attractive and aesthetic barrier. With our epoxy coating process you can choose your own grade and your own finish, including safe non-slip finishes for walkways, heavy duty epoxy coatings, and water-based epoxy paints.

o provide a dry environment, any structure built below ground level will require waterproofing. Failure to provide effective waterproofing will affect the structure’s functionality and maintenance and hence a durable waterproofing system is a must.

Below Ground Waterproofing

Choosing the most appropriate waterproofing system will depend on a number of factors. Our technical department specialise in below ground waterproofing and will be able to provide information on the most appropriate waterproofing system for a given project.

Roofs

Although membrane roofs are most commonly used in commercial application, it is becoming increasingly more common in residential. We have a wide range of superior membrane roofing systems available and there is always a system that is perfect for your project.

Our systems are designed to meet the highest demands for buildings and provide maximum long term water protection for the structure. Our systems have been used in residential, commercial and industrial applications fitting a variety of different needs.

  • We supply all types of torch applied and sheet membranes. Torch applied is a heavy duty form of waterproofing, typical in retaining applications.
  • We have a large range of acrylic membranes available to suit many different applications and environments. Joints are caulked and bounding tape used on all expansion joints.
  • We can supply and apply polyurethane waterproofing membranes which is a 2-3 coat system that is fast drying and seamless.
  • PVC membranes are one of the most durable waterproofing options. It is a product that has proven it can serve its purpose for a long period of time without need for replacement.
  • We also install plural component Polyurethane and Polyurea sprayed or trowelled systems from all the leading manufactures. These are strong, car traifficable in 2 hours. Ideal for waterproofing structures during construction and making the watertight and trafficable. This is our most trusted method of waterproofing with hundreds of thousands of sqm done by us using this type of product.
